Marketing 2011: A Letter to our Alumni
Dear Alumni,
Celebrating 40 years of Pioneering Leadership in Marketing Education
Your alma mater, the Department of Marketing of the University of Strathclyde Business School, will mark the 40th anniversary of its founding in 2011.
We plan to use the occasion of this milestone to:
- celebrate our pioneering role in advancing marketing education and scholarship in the UK and internationally; and
- reconnect and strengthen our links with you and other members of the Department’s family.
The activities planned for next year include:
- “A weekend with the Department” (June 10-12, 2011), featuring:
- home coming visits to the Stenhouse Building;
- a practice-relevant workshop on leading-edge Marketing topics (to be made available online);
- a golf tournament at Ross Priory; and
- a celebratory dinner at the iconic Òran Mór banquet hall in Glasgow West End.
- Alumni-organised Chapter events around the world (all year);
- Weekly spotlight on selected Alumni in designated Departmental websites (all year); and
- A book of memories of Departmental alumni and staff, past and present.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of these planned activities and invite you to participate actively in these events. If you would be unable to join us in Glasgow, please consider collaborating with fellow alumni in your country/city to organise an appropriate event to mark the Department’s 40th Anniversary. Do remember to invite us should you decide to organise such Chapter event.
