SIG One Day Workshop

We don’t need to exaggerate the seriousness of today’s economic climate nor the potential contribution to be made to national economies by means of international trade. International marketing is what provides the knowledge and the skills to derive full value added for participants in international as well as domestic exchanges. You are invited to a one day seminar that allows you to share your research and ideas with colleagues within the international marketing sector.



Professor Svend Hollensen
Professor of International Marketing
University of Southern Denmark

“Development of a Global Marketing Strategy.”

Recognised as one of the world’s leading authorities on global marketing strategy he commenced his career in international marketing for a large Danish multinational enterprise before receiving his PhD from Copenhagen Business School in 1992.

He has published articles in journals and is the author of two case books that focus on general marketing and international marketing (published by Copenhagen Business School Press). Author of Global Marketing, FT/ Prentice Hall now in its 5th Edition and of an abridged version: The Fundamentals of Global Marketing, FT/ Prentice Hall.



Professor Nigel Holden
Professor of Cross - Cultural Management
University of Central Lancashire

“The Role and Nature of Tacit Knowledge in Firms’ International Networks.”

Co author with Martin Glisby (2010), Creating Knowledge Advantage. The Tacit Dimensions of International Competition and Cooperation, Copenhagen Business School. This is the first case-based book to explore the role and nature of tacit knowledge in firms’ International networks.



Professor Peter McGoldrick
Manchester Business School

“Ethical, Environmental, International Sourcing”

Peter J. McGoldrick is the Tesco Professor of Retailing at Manchester Business School within The University of Manchester. He is Chair of the Consumer, Retail, Innovation & Service (CRIS) Research Centre at MBS and Director of the Retail Research Forum, an industry-university collaboration of ten years standing. His research has attracted extensive peer-reviewed and industrial funding, including several grants from the ESRC, EPSRC, DTI, OFT, EU and other funding organisation. Peter has published over 150 books and papers, mainly within the fields of retailing and consumer behaviour. His sole-authored textbook Retail Marketing (McGraw-Hill) is in second edition, now also available in Chinese. He has co-authored books on International Retailing, The Retailing of Financial Services, and Shopping Centers. He has recent papers published in Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Business Ethics and many other journals.
